What Game Got Me Into The Gaming Industry

Geometry Dash is a fast paced rhythm platformer where players navigate a square icon through challenging levels filled with spikes, obstacles, and traps, all synced to music. The goal is to reach the end without being eliminated and while this does seem pretty simple at first glance, the evolution that this game has gone through was immense and it was one of the first games, a mobile game, that got me into the gaming industry.

One of the reasons I decided to play this game as my first was because of its art style, if you want to make a game and the target demographic are kids, you need to make it simple for the kids to enjoy and not confuse them. Another reason i enjoyed the game was because of how different it was compared to other mobile video. Geometry Dash, a game where you have to jump and complete a level with a different variety of music and that sentence alone made me love the game.

Another reason I continued to play this game as a kid was also because of its community, Robert Topala also known as Robtop online was the creator of this popular game back then in 2013 and it blew up. People decided to become Youtubers only for this game that has a cube and jumps over obstacles with music in the back. If you look at the gameplay mechanics of Geometry dash in 2013 and compare it to 2025, the creators of these levels became so creative and challenging that people would spend countless days just to beat this one singular level and that is also another factor i love about the game is its competitiveness.
